This challenge is now closed. Thanks for playing!Hi, Robins! It's the day after the latest Round Robin Challenge, and therefore time to announce the next one. The new topic comes to us from Tammie Jean of
Long Drives To Nowhere. She had several great ideas, and the one we're going with this time is "Focus on the Details!" This posting date will be Wednesday, June 27th, beginning at midnight.
This Challenge should be an interesting one, because it reminds us to pay attention to what's around us, details we may miss through not paying attention. But with this topic and a good camera, we can reveal those things that hide in plain sight. They can be large or small or tiny, exotic or everyday: the shape of a particular mountain ridge, a wallpaper pattern, a fine bit of wood carving, the veins in an insect's wing, or a thousand other examples.
Get out the camera, line up the shot, show us something that goes beyond broad outlines of the big picture. Or go for a completely different meaning of the phrase, and show us what it is to be a detail-oriented person. Do you make detailed checklists in planning a major task, all to make sure the party, the vacation or the job comes out right? Do you notice the little things that make a work of art or a personal encounter richer and more meaningful? Perhaps you have other ideas about meaningful details, something your camera can capture for us so we can see things a new way. Well, then, go to it! If you'd like to participate, please leave your RSVP before June 27th in the comments thread of this entry. It should look something like this:
Yes, I'll look after the details!

Then get ready to post your picture(s) on Wednesday, June 27th. You can post a few days late if you need to, but please don't post early! Full guidelines are available in our Welcome and Rules of Play entry, which you can find on the sidebar of this blog.
Now, I mentioned that Tammie Jean had several good ideas for a topic. This is far from the first time that's happened. Some Robins seem to be bursting with great ideas, while others fall by the wayside and are unable to participate when the time comes to choose a topic. We hate to waste the "leftover" topics you folks think up, so from now on, we're going to keep a pool of your extra topic ideas. This will help us in three ways:
- It rewards people who make these great suggestions, by not making them wait a year or more to see the idea used;
- It gives us breathing room in case we have trouble contacting people who may no longer be available to us; and
- It helps to keep the quality of the topics high, which should translate into more fun for everyone.
We're still working out the details (there's that word again!), but that's what we're planning, as we prepare to roll over to the top of the list of Round Robin participants for the first time in about two years.
That's it, folks! You know where to reach us with your questions, if any:
