Hi, Folks!
You probably noticed that I did not post a new Challenge topic this past Sunday. No, the Round Robin Photo Challenges are not shutting down, so don't give up on us. But I do need a little break. I have been embroiled in a series of personal crises lately, culminating with my dad almost dying this past weekend. (His pulse got below 30 even with a temporary pacemaker.) Between my new responsibilities with my dad, the illness and death of my dog Pepper, and the challenges of working three part time jobs at once, I've been stressed, depressed and generally overwhelmed.
But don't worry that the Round Robin Photo Challenges will fall apart because I'm facing very different challenges of my own. Help is at hand! Our old friend and co-founder of the RRPC, Carly, will be taking over posting the Challenges for the next three months. Her first challenge date will be Saturday March 9th, and she will keep it going through June 8th. She has lots of ideas for themes, so I look forward to posting alongside you - but just as a participant. I'm hoping that by the time June 8th comes around, my life will have settled down a bit, and I'll be refreshed and ready to go. Thanks for your participation and your understanding, and keep on being photographers!
Karen

Round Robin Challenge: Give It Up!
Hi, Robins! This next one is inspired by something millions of Christians (particularly Roman Catholics and Episcopalians) attempt to do this time of year, in the 40-days-plus-Sundays following Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras). The Round Robin Challenge for Saturday, February 23rd is
As you may know, I gave up high carbohydrate foods (such as pancakes!) nearly two years ago, with very few lapses since then. Other people have given up smoking, or Facebook, or video games, or more serious addictive substances or activities. We forego certain pleasures temporarily for spiritual purposes, or we attempt to give them up permanently (or at least, one day at a time) for health, financial, ethical or interpersonal reasons. For this Challenge, show us something you've given up at some time in your life, or would like to give up, or wish someone else would give up. You know the drill:
1. Grab your camera or go through your files for one or more photographs of something that you've given up at one time or another, or would like to give up, or would like someone else to give up.
2. RSVP in the comments below with your name and the name and URL of the place you plan to post your photo(s).
3. On the Challenge date, Saturday, Saturday, February 23rd, post the results on any blog, social media site or online photo album. Don't forget to link back to here in your entry, so your readers can check out the other Robins' contributions.
4. Please visit the other Robins' entries, and comment if so moved. The list of entries will be posted at the bottom of this entry starting around midnight MST on the Challenge date, and updated through the day.
That's all there is to it! Have fun, and go be photographers!

I have a defensive driving class in the morning and my dad is in intensive care at St. Joseph's Hospital here in town, so I won't be around much this weekend. I'll try to check in when I can!

A Quick Note
Hi, Robins!
As you may have gathered, I've had a difficult week and a busy day. I'm not quite ready to post the next Challenge, but never fear! I'll be back shortly, probably Monday evening, to announce the next topic and to visit your entries from this weekend. Stay tuned!
