Round Robin Challenge: Hometown Holiday Decorations

Greetings Robins :) THIS CHALLENGE IS NOW CLOSED! THANKS FOR PLAYING :)

We are heading straight for Christmas, and other holidays of December, so lets do something a wee bit different! Let's combine my love for public art, with the wonderful joys of the holiday season! Grab your cameras, and photograph the public holiday decorations around the town you live in. Or, if you like, photograph a nearby town's decorations. Oh well, any old town will do, as long as it includes some holiday decorations. Holiday banners, giant sparkly snowflakes hanging from street lights, a town square decked with boughs of holly, or a wreath strewn street. A giant animated reindeer in the middle of a shopping mall, a large Christmas tree in a quaint village, all shiny and ready for Christmas! If it is a public decoration, and celebrates the upcoming holiday season, it will be perfect for this challenge!

Save the date for this challenge, it will be played on Saturday, December 13th. As always you can post your photo entry anytime between the midnights of that day, or for up to one week late if you have to be late with your entry for some reason. It is best, however, to try to post on the day of the challenge to get the maximum visitors possible. The most important thing is not to post your entry prior to the challenge date. We don't post the Linking List until the date of the challenge, so you won't be linked to until then! It's also a good idea to double check the R.S.V.P. link to your blog for any errors before you leave it. It should look like this...

It is extremely helpful to us if you leave your R.S.V.P. in this format. :) And that you double check your link! Also, if you are new to the challenges, be sure to let us know so we can welcome you properly! :)

Ok, that's all there is to it. Grab your cameras, GO BE PHOTOGRAPHERS, and comeback here on Saturday, December 13th, ready to show off your HOMETOWN HOLIDAY DECORATIONS!

Round Robin Challenge: On My Table

Pickle, My Cat

Greetings Robins! Time for your next photo challenge! We've a holiday on the way in the U.S. so keeping that in mind I have selected a topic which can be adapted for the Thanksgiving holiday. The challenge for November 29th is:
THIS CHALLENGE IS NOW CLOSED! THANKS FOR PLAYING. :)
"On My Table"

What's on your table? Photograph your table and what is on it. A meal, some books or a floral display. A center piece or a place setting for ten. Show off your table and what's on your table. Holiday themed or just a slice of your everyday living.

Be sure to read the Welcome and Rules of Play if it's your first challenge or if you've sat out a few rounds. If you need to post early - don't. Check to see if your blogging tool supports a future timed post update. Have fun, take your time, and post on the challenge due date.

R.S.V.P. in comments so we'll know how many will be at our Round Robin table. Follow my example and return on November 29th to share what's on your table!

Round Robin Challenge: Two Halves Don't Make a Whole

Hi, Robins! Are you ready for our next one? It comes to us from Nancy, of Nancy Luvs Pix. The challenge for Saturday, November 15th is

Two Halves Don't Make a Whole

Nancy explains the concept thus:

THIS CHALLENGE IS NOW CLOSED! THANKS FOR PLAYING

Photograph two different shots of the same type of thing (like a tree). Crop out half of each and make two separate photos. Put them side by side, or one on top of the other...so that they look ALMOST like one photo...but not quite. It sounds more complicated than it needs to be. It could be really fun and who knows what you could come up with here!

This one is going to require a little photo editing, but shouldn't be too hard, and it gives us a chance to play with things and stretch our skills and our powers of observation a bit. If you'd like to try it, but you're not sure how to proceed, drop us a line and we'll be glad to help!

As always, be sure to check our Welcome Entry and Rules of Play if you're new to this or have sat out a few rounds, or even if you just have a question. You can also reach Carly, Steven or myself at the email addresses on the sidebar. Meanwhile, you know how to RSVP, don't you? Just leave a comment below, looking something like this!

Yes, I'll play!

Got it? Good! Now, go be photographers!
