Round Robin Challenge: Railroads

Happy New Year Robins!

This challenge is now closed! Thank you for playing! :)

It's a brand spanking New Year, and it's time for a brand spanking new challenge to usher in 2008 with. So, what comes to mind when you think of the new year? Here's a hint... Woo Woo...that's right... our very first challenge of the year is "Railroads!" Trains take us here, trains take us there, and they are darn photogenic while doing so. Have you taken the "A" train lately? How about the subway? Do you have a nifty steam train in your favorite park or recreational area? How about a train of historical significance nearby? Even if the only train you connect with is Thomas The Tank Engine, it can be photographed for this challenge. Anything Railroad related counts!

When will we be playing this challenge? Glad you asked. This challenge will be played on Saturday, January 12th. As always you can post anytime during the 24 hours of that day, or if you need to be late, you can post up to one week late. If you know you will be posting late, you can always send us an email with the date you plan to post, and we will make a note next to your name on the Linking List.

Please remember to R.S.V.P in the following manner...

Example

Carly
Ellipsis
http://ellipsissuddenlycarly.blogspot.com

It is very important that you remember to leave your information each time you sign up to play, even if you have played a challenge with us before. It is a big help when we prepare the Linking List if we have all of your complete information. :)

Gina, who authors the blog, "Gina's Space," submitted this challenge to us during our recent challenge pool round, so if you have a subject you would love for us to tackle, please feel free to send your ideas in. I want to especially encourage our newest Round Robins to participate, but even if you have been with us since day one, we look forward to your ideas, because we can't have all this fun without you.

So Robins, go grab your cameras, and go be photographers, and be sure to comeback here on Saturday, January 12th with your amazing photos. See you then!

-Carly :)

Round Robin Challenge: Going Going Gone!

Tuesday, October 5, 2004
This challenge is now closed. Thank you for playing! :)
Greetings Robins! Time for the last challenge of 2007!

This topic was suggested by Nancy, Nancyluvspics. I knew I wanted to use it for the last challenge of the year from the moment I saw it. A great statement to wind down the year with. Get ready, get set, because you are going to photograph...

"Going, Going, Gone!"

Now, don't fret if you can't think of a photo situation that sums up the entire passage of the year. Going, going, gone simply means a transition. My little example photo shows my cat leaping out of the frame. A sunset is a going photo too. A win, a milestone, an achievement photo. Enough of my musings on the topic, I know you'll find your own "Going, Going, Gone!" photo to share!

Do visit the rules of play if it's your first time playing or have sat out a few rounds.

Questions? Sing out in comments or give Carly, Karen or me a shout!

* Karen: mavarin[at]aol.com
* Carly: ondinemonet[at]aol.com
* Steven: steven.emmett[at]gmail.com

Go ahead and R.S.V.P. in comments. Follow my example. Now go be photographers and return on Saturday, December 29th to share your "going, going, gone" photos!

Round Robin Challenge: Black and White Landscape

Hello Robins

This Challenge Is Now Closed. Thank You For Playing.
Time for a new challenge to enjoy. :) Marie, author of the blog, "Photographs and Memories Too" submitted the challenge topic, "Black and White Landscape" during our recent challenge topic round-up, and I thought it sounded like a nifty idea. With the weather changing to rain and snow throughout the country, what better way to see the beauty in those cold days, then to get out with the camera and let the creative juices flow? You might even see a beautiful, picturesque scene out a window, and capture it, so don't feel like you have to go out into the rain and snow if you don't want to. :) Perhaps you took a lovely landscape photo last summer, that works as well, although a brand new photo taken by you is always enjoyable to see.

The date of the next challenge will be, Saturday, December 15th, and as always you can post your entry at any time that day, or if you need to post late, you can post up to one week after the challenge. If you know the date you will be posting, just drop us an email and we will be happy to place a little note next to your name on the Linking List, so that other's will know when to visit your entry. :) If you do plan to join us, please provide us with the following information...

Your Name
The Name Of Your Blog or Journal
The Full address of your Blog or Journal

That's all there is to it. :) If you haven't played the challenges before, please click on the link on the sidebar to read the **Welcome Entry And Rules Of Play**. Now, go grab your cameras, and comeback here on Saturday, December 15th, ready to show off your creativeness in black and white. See you then!

Round Robin Challenge: Sparkle

Hello Robins :)
This challenge is now closed. Thanks for playing. :)

Time to rise to a new challenge, but first, I want to thank everyone who played our last challenge, and submitted ideas. And what a great bunch of ideas they were! They were all just wonderful, and they will keep us photographically inspired for quite a while, although please keep those ideas coming. Now, onto our challenge, for Saturday, December 2nd, "Sparkle."

The idea comes to us by way of Vicki, author of the blog, "Maracas." With the holidays upon us, there should be ample opportunity to find a sparkly subject at nearly every turn. A beautiful iridescent holiday candle, a glass of sparkling wine or champagne, beautiful sparkly snowflakes, a piece of jewelry, holiday decorations, or maybe a special outfit that has sequins on it. Fireworks could also be a great idea for this challenge. Let your imaginations run free. If it sparkles, then it is perfect for this challenge.

A couple things to remember. If you haven't played the Round Robin Challenges before, be sure to visit the Welcome Entry and Rules Of Play, otherwise, just leave your information in the comment thread for this entry, in the following manner...

EXAMPLE

Your Name: Carly
Your Blog Name: Ellipsis
Your Blog Address: http://ellipsissuddenlycarly.blogspot.com

That's all there is to it. Everyone is welcome to play, but you must leave your complete information for us to be able to find you. Remember to not post your entries prior to the posting date of December 1st. If for some reason you can't make it that day, just let us know when you sign up, because you can post your entry up to one week late. If you tell us the date you will be posting, we can make a note of it next to your name on the Linking List. That way, you will have the best chance of having your entry be seen and read after the challenge has played.

Okay, that's all there is to it! Now, GO BE PHOTOGRAPHERS, and comeback here on December 1st, ready to show off your SPARKLE! :)

Round Robin Challenge: "Other" Settings

This challenge is now closed. Thank you for playing! :)

Hi, Robins! The newest Round Robin Photo Challenges topic, for the Challenge date of Saturday, November 3rd, comes to us from Becky of the blog Where Life Takes You. It's all about "Other" settings on our cameras - you know, those functions we either haven't found yet or are a bit nervous about using. Becky introduces the concept this way:

Many of us fall into the category of "enthusiast" or "skilled amateur" when it comes to snapping pictures. We tend to rely on the automatic settings on our camera.

How about we stretch our photographic muscles and try some of those "other" settings on the camera? Ones we've never used before, particularly. It would be interesting to see what people come up with.

I have a panoramic setting and an "action" setting that takes a series of photos and I've NEVER tried them. There are others too. I'd love an excuse to try them.

I have to tell you, this topic really jumps up and calls my name, because 90% of my photos are taken with the dial of my camera set on the little green camera icon, meaning "automatic." I've tried a few things here and there, but there must be lots of functions on my Cybershot that I've never even found, let alone tried. How about you? Have you fully explored that camera of yours, or do you mostly just do what you know how to do? If the latter is the case, here is your chance - and mine - to stretch our skills a bit.

Now, some of the Robins are professional-quality photographers rather than "skilled amateurs," but even for you folks, I'm wondering how often you go beyond the comfort zone to try out everything your camera or cameras can do. Is there something you've been meaning to try out, or want to learn to do better? Here's your excuse to do it!

If you'd like to join in on this Challenge, you know how to go about it, right? Just RSVP in the comments with your name, blog name and URL, thus:

Yes, I'm keen to try an "other" setting. Maybe even color!

Ansel
Iconic Landscapes
http://centerforcp.blogspot.com

Then go be photographers, and get ready to post your results - and a link back here - on Saturday, November 3rd. You can post your entry up to six days after that if need be, but on the day is best, and please don't post your entry early. Got it? Good!

Now, one more thing while we're all here. I've just been perusing our Round Robin suggestion box, and it's getting a bit, you know, empty. The suggestions in it are all great, but we need more. Specifically, we need YOUR suggestions for future Round Robin topics. What theme would you like to try that we haven't done yet? Drop us a line and let us know!

* Karen: mavarin[at]aol.com
* Carly: ondinemonet[at]aol.com
* Steven: steven.emmett[at]gmail.com

We'll add your topic suggestions to the kitty, and use them for future challenges. If you'd like to include an introduction to the topic, that will be even better!

That's it, folks! See you soon with those brave photographic experiments!

Karen

Round Robin Challenge: Shadowland

Hello Robins :) This challenge is now closed. Thank you for playing. :)

And welcome to our next photographic adventure. And what an adventure it will be! Vicki, author of the blog, "Maraca" has submitted the topic "Shadowland" to intrigue and inspire us. With Halloween coming up, at the end of the month, there should be plenty of shadowy opportunities available. Her vision for the challenge is as follows...

October. Darkness reigns and spirits gather. Gone are the sunlit days of summer, and the heart turns strange and melancholy. Welcome to Shadowland.

The theme is open-ended, so go with whatever your imagination can conjure. Photograph actual shadows, perhaps; capture the mood in a striking portrait or landscape, or even - if you dare- catch a ghost. This would be a great time to try working in black and white or to experiment with editing and effects. After all, it's Shadowland. Anything could happen."

-Vicki

Okay Robins, grab your cameras, and your courage, and let your imaginations run wild. Photograph your favorite shadowy phenomenon, or your favorite ghostly presence. Look deep into those dark corners and crevices of the attic or basement, for things that go bump in the night or maybe spin a perfect web. Try something different, and do some night photography, or if the nighttime is not your favorite time, then find those shadows, ghosts, and entities in the daylight hours. It's all good! The date of this challenge will be Saturday, October 20th. There are just a few rules to follow...

1. DO NOT post your entry prior to the challenge date.

2. Please sign-up prior to the challenge date, by using the following format...

(Example)

Carly

Feeling inspired? Great! Get your creative on, GO BE PHOTOGRAPHERS, and then comeback here on October 20th, ready to show off your imagination. And if you have an idea for an upcoming Round Robin Challenge, email your submissions to Karen, Steven or myself. Be sure to put "Round Robin Challenge Submission" in the subject line of your email. Remember Robins, we can't do it without you, so we are looking forward to hearing from you! :)

See you October 20th! Bwahahahahahahah!

Round Robin Challenge: Talisman

Hi ho, Robins!

This Challenge Is Now Closed, Thanks for playing! :)

It's time to announce the next Round Robin Photo Challenge topic, this time from Vicki, of the blog Maraca. The topic for Saturday, September 22nd, is "Talisman". As Vicki explains:

I love the word itself, "talisman," so mysterious and evocative. Talismans protect against evil or bring good luck. Many things come to mind, from a bowler's lucky shirt to folk amulets. Odd garden ornaments that include glass spheres and beads are fairly common these days, and would fit the bill. It could be something unusual that a bird has woven into a nest, a necklace or a saint medallion, coins, a stone, a special place ... anything, really, that says "magic lives here." Vicki

I must admit that when I saw the topic name "Talisman" in the Round Robin topic suggestion kitty, I immediately thought of the term in its narrowest meaning, as a magic amulet that protects its owner or brings luck. After all, my first novel's working title referred to just such an object. But there's a broader meaning as well. As Vicki says, many of us have some "lucky" object that comforts us as we face the unknown, whether it's a a rabbit's foot, an unusual coin, a piece of crystal, a small statue, or even a particular item of clothing we wear to job interviews or the big game. Maybe we don't really believe that it helps us, but we keep it close by anyway, perhaps as a touchstone or icon. And even if we aren't in the least superstitious, we may be intrigued by items that resemble powerful magical objects, be they relics of some ancient religion or replicas of Tolkien's One Ring. It's a topic that requires a little extra thought, but sometimes those are the best ones!

So start thinking about what your talisman may be, whether it's a mysterious necklace at a museum, a St. Christopher medal or your child's lucky socks. Take your pictures, and get ready to post your entry on Saturday, September 22nd, anytime between midnight and midnight. Here are the usual guidelines:

1. Please RSVP in the comments to this entry if you plan to participate. Include your name or online handle, blog name and URL, thus:

There and Back Again
http://myprecious.blogspot.com

It's also helpful if you stop back here and let us know that your entry is posted, so that we can update the Linking List that much more quickly!

2. As always, you can post up to six days later if you need to, but the announced date is the best, and please do not post your entry early.

3. Do include a link back here, or to the Linking List of participating Robins, which will be posted in this entry on the 22nd.

And remember, your own topic suggestions are always welcome! Email them to us:

* Karen: mavarin[at]aol.com

Round Robin Challenge: Something Different

Hello Robins :)
This Challenge Is Now Closed. Thank you for playing.

It's time to begin our new format. Have you been paying attention? Tee Hee. Did you know we have a new way of having fun with the challenges? Did you know the day of the week the challenges will be played on has moved from Wednesdays to Saturdays? Well, no worries if you didn't know, that's what this entry is all about. :) Be sure to read this entry carefully, so that you don't miss the fun.

Beginning with this entry, all future Round Robin Challenges will now be played every other Saturday. Also, we have moved to a new system of how Karen, Steven and I choose a challenge to be played. So, if you haven't already heard, we are now requesting that you send in your best ideas for future challenges. Is there a photo challenge theme you have always wanted to try? Send it in, and it might be featured as an upcoming challenge. Nothing is too wacky, so, put on your creative caps and go for it. We want to hear from you. You can submit as many ideas as you want, but keep in mind we may use your idea at any time. If we do use your idea, and for some reason you can't join us that week, no worries, you will still be linked to, and will receive full credit.

Please submit your ideas by email ONLY! You can send your ideas to Steven, Karen or myself, and they will be added to the pool of available topics. If we choose your idea, we will notify you by email, prior to the announcement of the challenge. The new challenge announcement day is now Sundays, the day after we play each challenge. So, like I said, get your creative on, and send in those ideas! And now... on to the subject of our next challenge.

To get us off on a really creative foot, Nancy, author of the blog, Nancy Luvs Pix, has chosen, "Something Different," for our next challenge. Here is here vision for how we should approach the challenge...

"People tend to stick with certain things to photograph... you know, flowers, kids, sunsets, dogs... all the stuff I love too! I think it would be a great thing for the Round Robins to take a shot at something that they would never normally try to photograph. It's time for us to get out of our comfort zones, and open our eyes to the various art that exists, but is perhaps hidden somewhat. It could be fun!"

-Nancy

Doesn't that sound intriguing??? The whole idea is to rise up to the challenge, and spread our creative wings. Lets have fun with this Robins. Lets really get out there and step outside our comfort zone. :) The world is waiting... show us what YOU see. If you want to go for the challenge, one of the last challenges of the summer by the way, then make a note of the date, and plan to join us on Saturday, September 8th, 2007. As always, you can post anytime between the midnights of that day, or if you are going to be late, you can post any day for up to one week after the challenge date.

Some Things Haven't Changed...

**PLEASE REMEMBER TO R.S.V.P IN THE FOLLOWING FORMAT...

(Example)
Carly
Ellipsis
http://ellipsissuddenlycarly.blogspot.com

**DO NOT POST YOUR ENTRY PRIOR TO THE ENTRY DATE!

**HAVE FUN!

Ok, that's it! Now, get your creative on, make me proud, and GO BE PHOTOGRAPHERS! See you back here on Saturday, September 8th, 2007, for "Something Different."

-Carly :)

Round Robin Challenge: Mannequins

Hidy Ho Robins :)
This challenge is now closed. Thanks for playing! :)

It's me, Carly, and guess what... it's my turn to choose a challenge! Just like with Karen, it has been over two years since I have chosen a challenge theme, but the wait has made me very happy. Why would waiting make me happy? Well, see, we have been adding new Robins with almost every new challenge, THAT is what has made the waiting for my turn to come around so nice. Meeting new friends, seeing some amazing creativity, and having tons of fun along the way. You guys are great. :) With all the innovative topics that have been suggested for the challenges, I knew it might be difficult for me to come up with a topic that you might enjoy. When I started considering what might appeal to everyone, I came up with something simple, and pretty readily available to all of us. So, our topic for this Round Robin Challenge will be "Mannequins."

So, grab your cameras and hit the malls and trendy little shops, and show me the mannequins you find most photogenic. Show me a mannequin that is weird, or maybe one that is very common. Headless mannequins would be interesting, so would themed mannequins, such as ones depicting fictional characters. Mannequins dressed to reflect the season's apparel, like a mannequin in a beach outfit. For that matter, if you have a mannequin from any of the holidays in your files, that would work, although I would love to see you get out with the camera and find something new and current. Let your creativity flow... don't be afraid to be bold with your choice, but keep in mind the Round Robin Challenges is a open to all ages, so please try to be appropriate.

Please Robins, you need to use the following example format when you sign-up to play...

Your Name: Carly
Your Blog Name: Ellipsis
Your Blog Address: http://ellipsissuddenlycarly.blogspot.com

Robins, our RULES OF PLAY have changed recently, so please pay a visit to the **WELCOME ENTRY & RULES OF PLAY entry, and familiarize yourselves with how we play. It is very important that everyone follow the rules. It makes bringing the challenges to you a lot easier for Karen, Steven and myself. Just to remind you of the basics, here is a brief list of the rules we ask you to observe.

1. DO NOT POST YOUR ENTRY EARLY
2. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR FULL INFORMATION WHEN YOU SIGN-UP TO PLAY.

The rules are for everyone Robins, so please try to remember. :) Please don't make us look up your information each time.

The date for this challenge will be Wednesday, August 8th. As always you can post your entry any time between the midnights of that day, or if you can't join us on that day, you can post any day up to one week after the challenge date. If you know you can't post the day of the challenge, just let us know when you sign-up, and we will post the date you plan to post your entry, next to your name on the Linking List. But if you can, please post your entry the day of the challenge, as that is when the participating entries usually receive the most visitors. :)

OK, that's it. That's all you need to know to play. Now make me proud, grab your cameras, find your challenge subject, "Mannequins," and GO BE PHOTOGRAPHERS! See you on Wednesday, August 8th!

-Carly

NOTE: We are still needing some submissions for the new Round Robin Challenges, coming this September. If you have an idea for an upcoming challenge, send us your ideas! We can't do it without you! See the sidebar, for a list of all the past challenges we have already played.

Round Robin Challenge: Gimme, Gimme

And now, two years and a bit later, it's my turn again to choose a Challenge topic. You know me. I'm Karen of Outpost Mâvarin.

We've had lots of great topics since we started these Challenges. Cycling through all the active Robins in order, we've been continually impressed with all your wonderful themes and ideas. Now we're back up to the top of the list, and it's my turn, one last time before we open each Challenge up for everyone's great ideas, regardless of when each person started participating. You'd think I'd be chomping at the bit, dying to tell you about some great topic I've been sitting on for years. But after all the wonderful, uplifting topics we've already done, I find my head is empty of wonderful, uplifting Challenge ideas. Instead I keep coming back to an idea that's fun and silly and not uplifting at all.
This challenge is now closed. Thank you for playing!

The topic for Wednesday, July 25th, 2007 is

"Gimme, Gimme!"

C'mon, admit it. We all get greedy sometimes, and we all want something. Maybe we indulge ourselves, and buy that latte, ice cream cone, book or BMW, and maybe we don't. But it doesn't stop us wanting.

So show us what you want. It can be something huge and expensive, or a little thing you might buy on a whim; a habit you're trying to break, or the goal for which you're breaking that habit. Concrete or abstract, your own want or something your kids or your cats keep begging for, it's all good. If you can capture it in a camera lens, go for it!

And now for the quick reminder on how it works:

1. RSVP in the comments to this entry. It should include your name (or online handle), blog name and URL, thus:

Will play for food!
Tuffy
Scaredy Dog Blog
http://cheeseisgood.blogspot.com

2. Post your entry no sooner than the Challenge date, Wednesday July 25th. You can post up to six days late if you need to, but you'll probably have fewer visitors after Wednesday. Do NOT post before the 25th!

3. Include a link back to this blog. Links to other Robins are appreciated by not mandatory. We'll post the linking list late Tuesday night.

4. Have fun!

As I mentioned above, we're changing the way topics are chosen, starting a few Challenges from now. We already have a short list of topics people have suggested that haven't been used yet, and now we're inviting you to add to that list. Email us your topic ideas! You can send us one idea or a dozen, or any number in between, any time you like. Every two weeks we'll choose a topic, and give full credit to the person who submitted it. We're looking for new, different ideas, so please see the sidebar for the list of topics we've already done. Got it? Good! Send your topics to

* Karen: mavarin[at]aol.com
* Carly: ondinemonet[at]aol.com
* Steven: steven.emmett[at]gmail.com

To keep topics a surprise until the announcement date, we will accept ideas only by email. Do not make suggestions in the comments!

That's it, folks! Start wowing us with your topic ideas, and go be photographers!

Round Robin Challenge: The Road Less Traveled

Friday, October 17, 2003Greetings Robins! It’s time for the next challenge courtesy of Vicki, who blogs over at Maraca. For the week of July 11th, Vicki has selected "The Road Less Traveled." A fine to topic for this summer’s traveling season. The road is wide open for you and your camera, have you taken the road less traveled?
This challenge is now closed! Thank you for playing. :)
For the week of July 11, 2007 the topic is:
The Road Less Traveled

Lots of photo possibilities but if you are stuck for inspiration, here are some items to jump start your creativity:

“The Road Not Taken,” poem by Robert Frost

Round Robin Challenge: Focus on the Details...

This challenge is now closed. Thanks for playing!
Hi, Robins! It's the day after the latest Round Robin Challenge, and therefore time to announce the next one. The new topic comes to us from Tammie Jean of Long Drives To Nowhere. She had several great ideas, and the one we're going with this time is "Focus on the Details!" This posting date will be Wednesday, June 27th, beginning at midnight.

This Challenge should be an interesting one, because it reminds us to pay attention to what's around us, details we may miss through not paying attention. But with this topic and a good camera, we can reveal those things that hide in plain sight. They can be large or small or tiny, exotic or everyday: the shape of a particular mountain ridge, a wallpaper pattern, a fine bit of wood carving, the veins in an insect's wing, or a thousand other examples.

Get out the camera, line up the shot, show us something that goes beyond broad outlines of the big picture. Or go for a completely different meaning of the phrase, and show us what it is to be a detail-oriented person. Do you make detailed checklists in planning a major task, all to make sure the party, the vacation or the job comes out right? Do you notice the little things that make a work of art or a personal encounter richer and more meaningful? Perhaps you have other ideas about meaningful details, something your camera can capture for us so we can see things a new way. Well, then, go to it! If you'd like to participate, please leave your RSVP before June 27th in the comments thread of this entry. It should look something like this:

Yes, I'll look after the details!

R.P. Salamander
A Slippery Life
http://aslipperylife.blogspot.com

Then get ready to post your picture(s) on Wednesday, June 27th. You can post a few days late if you need to, but please don't post early! Full guidelines are available in our Welcome and Rules of Play entry, which you can find on the sidebar of this blog.

Now, I mentioned that Tammie Jean had several good ideas for a topic. This is far from the first time that's happened. Some Robins seem to be bursting with great ideas, while others fall by the wayside and are unable to participate when the time comes to choose a topic. We hate to waste the "leftover" topics you folks think up, so from now on, we're going to keep a pool of your extra topic ideas. This will help us in three ways:

  1. It rewards people who make these great suggestions, by not making them wait a year or more to see the idea used;
  2. It gives us breathing room in case we have trouble contacting people who may no longer be available to us; and
  3. It helps to keep the quality of the topics high, which should translate into more fun for everyone.
We're still working out the details (there's that word again!), but that's what we're planning, as we prepare to roll over to the top of the list of Round Robin participants for the first time in about two years.

That's it, folks! You know where to reach us with your questions, if any:

* Karen: mavarin[at]aol.com
* Carly: ondinemonet[at]aol.com
* Steven: steven.emmett[at]gmail.com

Now go be photographers!

Round Robin Challenge: Fabulous Freaks Of Nature

Hello Robins :)

This Challenge Is Now Closed. Thanks For Playing :)
We have a new challenge for you! Meg, author of the blog, "In Quest Of" has decided "Fabulous Freaks Of Nature," will be our new challenge subject. Her concept is to have us show off unusual natural finds, such as " an oddly grown tomato, a weird tree, six toes on a puppy... you get the idea." Yeah, like 8 knees on an elephant, or someone who actually looks like a Picasso painting, or maybe even a monkey with male pattern baldness, or a kangaroo with three left feet! Oh, oh, I know... a hummingbird that knows the words. Tee Hee. :) Now, "if for some reason you can't seem to find a local FREAK OF NATURE, that is odd or funny enough to strike our fancy, then post your best shot of butterflies... beautiful butterflies."

Cool... sounds like a lot of fun! And when will all the displays of photographic genius take place? Glad you asked. Circle Wednesday, June 13th, as the date for this challenge. As always, you can post your entry any time between the midnights of that day, or if need be, up to one week after the date of the challenge. It's always best to try and post your challenge on the scheduled date, as that is when you are most likely to have your entry be seen. If you have to post your entry late, just leave the date you will be planning to post when you R.S.V.P to play. IMPORTANT: DO NOT POST YOUR ENTRY EARLY!!! That's a big NO-NO!

When you sign up to play a challenge, please use the following format...

I want to play (Or a similar message)

Carly
Ellipsis... Suddenly Carly
http://ellipsissuddenlycarly.blogspot.com

There. That's all there is to it. If you have any questions, feel free to email either Steven, Karen or myself, and one of us will respond A.S.A.P. :) Now, go get your creative on, go be photographers, go find those FABULOUS FREAKS OF NATURE, or butterflies... beautiful butterflies, and come back here on Wednesday, June 13th! :)

This challenge is now closed. Thank you for playing. :)
For the week of May 30th, the theme is:
“Mailbox”

Round Robin Challenge: Pink (for May 16, 2007)

This challenge is now closed. Thanks for playing.

Hi, Robins! It's time to announce the next Round Robin Photo Challenge. This one comes to us from Renee of Ode to the Muse. She offered up several great ideas, and the one we're going with this time is "Pink"!

As Renee says, "pink is pretty!" We see the color all around us, on skin and on lips, on delicate petals and plastic Barbie furniture, and lots of other places besides. Pink represents the feminine (pink for girls, blue for boys), and on a triangle it means something rather different. Pink is the color of breast cancer awareness, and part of the palate of Santa Fe and Fab Fifties styles. Pink can be flashy and psychedelic, or as subtle as sand. So go have fun with it! Find us something that's pretty in pink, and get ready to post it on Wednesday, May 16, 2007. As always, you can post up to six days later if necessary, but it's better if you post on that day, so that everyone will see your entry. Please do not post early!

You know the rest of the spiel, right? Please RSVP in the comments if you plan to play along, thus:
I'm tickled pink to play!

Spring Meme Housekeeping

Sunday, March 20, 2005Greeting Robins!
As Karen, Carly and I got ready for the anniversary of the Round Robin, we decided to do a little spring cleaning! We've been working on a reorganized participant blogroll, along with updating of all our lists.

There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes to make the Round Robin happen. And we can’t do it without you! Take a moment to look over the participant blogroll. Are you listed? Is your blog URL current? Let us know and we’ll make it right.

The participant blogroll helps us keep track of who selects the next challenge. Some of you are here every challenge, some of you check in every so often and some try us out once or twice. We’d like to reward those who participate, so the participant blogroll will reflect those who participate.

It’s easy to participate even if you’ve sat out a few rounds. We keep a complete list so don’t fret if you’ve moved on or want to jump back in again with the Round Robin.

Some of you have been contacted about a current email address. Don’t worry, the email address helps us contact you when it’s your turn to select the challenge. If you have your email listed on your blog that is a big help to us. Some of you are hard to find!

Send us an email if you are worried about us not having your current email.

That is pretty much it for our springtime Round Robin housekeeping. Of course in a few months we’ll need to polish up again and we’ll be asking for your help.

Karen, Carly and I would like to thank you for making it easy to keep offering the Round Robin Challenges. We can’t do it without you, your cameras and your challenges!
