Round Robin Challenge: All Natural Colors

Hi, Robins! The next Challenge is about color, but not about a specific color. Instead I want you to try to capture colors that are as true to life as we can get them. The topic for Saturday, November 16th is

All Natural Colors

Let's try to present colors exactly as they exist in nature: the same sunset-tinged sky, the same red or orange leaf, the same range of blues and grays and greens seen on the side of a mountain. The challenge is to get your camera to record the same shades your eyes see, or, if you must, edit the photo to get it back to the color you remember. (It helps if you still have the thing you photographed visible for comparison!)  Whatever you photograph should not be dyed, painted, or made of plastic, but made of natural materials and left its natural color. If that color is a bit unusual for whatever it is, so much the better!

You know how this works, right?

1. Grab your camera and bring us one or more pictures showing natural colors. Archived photos are okay as long as you took the photo yourself and you're sure the colors are true-ti-life.

2. RSVP in the comments below with your name and the name and URL of the place you plan to post your photo(s).

3. On the Challenge date, Saturday, Saturday, November 16th, post the results on any blog, social media site or online photo album. Don't forget to link back to here in your entry, so your readers can check out the other Robins' contributions.

4. Please visit the other Robins' entries, and comment if so moved. The list of entries will be posted at the bottom of this entry starting around midnight MST on the Challenge date, and updated through the day.

That's all there is to it! Have fun, and go be photographers!

Karen

Round Robin Challenge: Fabulous Freaks Of Nature

Hello Robins :)

This Challenge Is Now Closed. Thanks For Playing :)
We have a new challenge for you! Meg, author of the blog, "In Quest Of" has decided "Fabulous Freaks Of Nature," will be our new challenge subject. Her concept is to have us show off unusual natural finds, such as " an oddly grown tomato, a weird tree, six toes on a puppy... you get the idea." Yeah, like 8 knees on an elephant, or someone who actually looks like a Picasso painting, or maybe even a monkey with male pattern baldness, or a kangaroo with three left feet! Oh, oh, I know... a hummingbird that knows the words. Tee Hee. :) Now, "if for some reason you can't seem to find a local FREAK OF NATURE, that is odd or funny enough to strike our fancy, then post your best shot of butterflies... beautiful butterflies."

Cool... sounds like a lot of fun! And when will all the displays of photographic genius take place? Glad you asked. Circle Wednesday, June 13th, as the date for this challenge. As always, you can post your entry any time between the midnights of that day, or if need be, up to one week after the date of the challenge. It's always best to try and post your challenge on the scheduled date, as that is when you are most likely to have your entry be seen. If you have to post your entry late, just leave the date you will be planning to post when you R.S.V.P to play. IMPORTANT: DO NOT POST YOUR ENTRY EARLY!!! That's a big NO-NO!

When you sign up to play a challenge, please use the following format...

I want to play (Or a similar message)

There. That's all there is to it. If you have any questions, feel free to email either Steven, Karen or myself, and one of us will respond A.S.A.P. :) Now, go get your creative on, go be photographers, go find those FABULOUS FREAKS OF NATURE, or butterflies... beautiful butterflies, and come back here on Wednesday, June 13th! :)

Round Robin Challenge: Nature (for 3/21/07)

This challenge is now closed! Thanks for playing!
Hi, Robins! The time has come to announce our newest Challenge, courtesy of our friend Gina, of Gina's Space. I'll let her introduce it:

My first love in photography has always been nature. I know this topic is rather broad....but I would like for the Robins to show us how they feel about nature....landscapes, sunsets/sunrises, wildlife....

There you have it, folks! We've had a few very specific challenges lately, so now it's time for a wide open one. The topic is Nature! What aspect of nature engages your senses, excites you or relaxes you, refreshes your spirit, and, most of all, inspires you to reach for the camera? Are you hung up on sunsets? Have you a passion for butterflies? Do you climb every mountain, or walk along the beach? Do you dare to capture a deer, a duckbill or a dragonfly in your camera lens? Are you in awe of the starkness of a late season ice storm, or cheered by robins and crocuses? Whatever it is, go out into the world and find it, take your best shots, and get ready to post them right after spring begins (or fall, if you're in the Southern Hemisphere), on Wednesday, March 21, 2007, any time between midnight and midnight. As always, you can post up to six days later if you need to, but you will probably get more visitors if you post your entry on the 21st.

Remember:

• Please don't post your entry before March 21st. (It's not fair to others, and may not be seen)

• Please do RSVP in a comment to this announcement entry. (See the example below.)
• Please include a link to this blog, or your fellow Robins, or both, in your entry.

Your RSVP comment should include your first name, blog name, and URL, like this:

Naturally I'll play! Ursula say so!

George
Jungle Jive
http://watchoutforthattree.blogspot.com

Got it? Good! Now go be photographers! And don't forget to show us the wonders of nature on Wednesday, March 21st.

Karen, with Carly and Steven

P.S. Oh! I almost forgot to mention this. We've had a little trouble recently contacting some of the Robins as their turn comes up to choose a Round Robin topic. If your email address isn't readily available in your AOL journal address, on your sidebar or someplace like that, please email Karen, Steven, or Carly so we know where to contact you when the time comes. Our email addresses are as follows:

* Karen: mavarin[at]aol.com
* Carly: ondinemonet[at]aol.com
* Steven: steven.emmett[at]gmail.com

We hope to hear from you soon!
